Montgomery Bay Lodge provides lodging on beautiful Lake Gogebic with its modern 3,600 sq ft fully furnished, log sided home that sleeps ten comfortably.  Situated on 8 wooded acres with 400 ft of private shoreline on beautiful Lake Gogebic.  Relax on the wraparound deck and watch the local Bald Eagles fish the bay, or start a campfire and take in the sunset.


At over 13,000 acres, the lake offers amazing opportunities for swimming, fishing, water sports, sailing, and kayaking. Well known for excellent fishing including Walleye, Jumbo Perch, and Northern Pike. There are even four restaurants on the lake accessible by boat!

Fishing - The Lake Gogebic Chamber of Commerce kicks things off with a Spring Fishing tournament timed just after the opening of fishing season on May 15th.

Water Sports - Lake Gogebic offers water skiing, sailing, kayaking, and swimming.  Don't have a boat?  No problem, there are plenty of local businesses that rent boats.

Trail Riding - Bring your ATV's and access the trails from the end of our driveway.  Hundreds of miles of forest roads and organized ATV trails including the "Rails to Trails" and MI TRALE.  Don't have an ATV?  No problem, rent one from the dealership in Bergland.

Hiking - The Lake Gogebic area is home to a number of amazing hiking trails including Alligator Eye, Gogebic Ridge Trail, and the North Country Trail.  Visit a number of local waterfalls including Yondota, Agate, and Bond Falls.

Explore Local Attractions - Take a ride and in 40 minutes be exploring the sandy beaches of Lake Superior, overlooking Lake of the Clouds in the Porcupine Mountains, mountain biking at Copper Peak, horseback riding, or trying your luck at the casino in Watersmeet.


Fall Color Tours - Amazing opportunities abound for viewing fall colors in the area.  Use our lodge as a base camp for motorcycle tours to Porcupine Mountain State Park, Copper Harbor, or the Apostle Island National Lakeshore.

Hunting - The Ottawa National Forest provides thousands of acres of unspoiled wilderness beginning across the street.  Enjoy hunting for Whitetail Deer, Grouse, and Bear.

Fishing - Late season walleye become active on the lake as the water temperatures drop and the Lake Gogebic chamber of commerce organizes a Fall Fishing Tournament in early September with lots of fun and prizes.


Snowmobiling - Bring your snowmobiles and access hundreds of miles of groomed trails beginning right at the end of our drive. Don't have a snowmobile?  No problem, rent a Ski-Doo or Polaris from one of two dealerships in Bergland.

Downhill Skiing - Hit the slopes!  Four of the midwest's best ski resorts are located just 25 miles from the lodge. Wakefield and Bessemer are home to Indianhead, Blackjack, and Big Powderhorn resorts, or head North to the Porcupine Mountains and try Ski the Porkies!

Ice Fishing - Ok, if you've read this far you'll know that fishing is pretty popular up here.  Some of the best ice fishing spots are found right out in front of the lodge.  Enjoy!
